Government announces ‘Restart Grant’ for Small Businesses

New rules coming into force will mean that all Clients visiting your Salon must have a Confirmed Appointment and all visitor’s details need to be electronically stored for contact tracing should it be needed.

This is going to prove difficult for Salons who don’t have a software system in place. Furthermore, because of the time constraints involved, Clients will be required to show up on time so Booking Deposits and Cancellation Charges will have to become your norm.

The good news is that you are more than likely eligible to claim a minimum of €2,000 and up to €10,000 under the Restart Grant recently announced by the Government. The grants will help micro and small businesses with the costs associated with reopening following COVID-19 closures.

You must Employ less than 50 people and turn over less than €5m to qualify for the grant so pretty much every Salon should apply when the online application process opens on Friday 22^nd May.
