What is it?
The Trading Online Voucher is an Irish government scheme run by your Local Enterprise Office, designed to assist salons & clinics like yours to boost your online presence, helping you trade online, boost sales and reach new clients. Salons can claim two vouchers worth €5,000, which can be spent on digital solutions such as websites, salon software and digital marketing to help your salon grow.
Essentially, the government is focused on getting more small businesses to sell their products and services online because online sales account for an ever-increasing percentage of sales across all industries.
All you have to do is attend a free webinar run by your Local Enterprise Office, fill in their application form and attach 3 quotes.
What can it be used for?
The grant can be used for many things, but most salons use this for:
- Improving their online presence by creating a new website or by improving your current website
- Adding online shops to their existing website
- Adding online bookings functionality to their website
- Digitalising their business through the addition of salon software
- Digital marketing for their salon. This can be Google ads, Instagram ads, Facebook or TikTok ads, whatever your salon needs.
How much can I get?
It offers a refund of 50% (up to a maximum of €2,500) of expenditure on developing an eCommerce website or running a digital marketing campaign.
And don’t worry if you have already received the Trading Online Voucher – you can apply for a second voucher from which you can get another refund of up to €2,500.
That’s up to €5,000 to help you develop that website you’ve always wanted and to run digital marketing campaigns to drive more new clients to your salon.
How do I apply?
Applying for the Trading Online Voucher is simple, and can be done in 2 steps:
- You must attend a Trading Online Voucher webinar, held online each month or so. This lasts about 1.5 – 2 hours. We will help you to register for upcoming webinar near you.
- You must submit an application form. You can download this here. As part of your application, you must submit quotes from 3 companies for the service you are applying for the grant to cover. You will also need to submit evidence of how long you have been trading for

How long does it take?
Typically you will receive your approval for the grant within 4 weeks of your application. Once you have been approved you can engage with Digital Salon to build your website or provide your required services.
You must pay for this yourself, and can claim this back upon completion. Digital Salon will provide you with a letter of completion, which you submit. You get your refund within a few weeks.
